RSVP

How to collect RSVPs online

Most RSVP problems are design problems. If the reply button sits next to the details, the form is short, and the deadline is clear, the majority of guests answer within 48 hours.

Put the reply where the details are

A separate form in a separate message loses people. When the RSVP form lives at the bottom of the invitation itself, replying is one tap after reading.

Ask only what changes a decision

Skip postal addresses, song requests and long comment boxes unless you will genuinely use them. Every field costs replies.

  • Are you coming?
  • How many people are you bringing?
  • Anything the caterer needs, such as a dietary note
  • One optional message field

Give a deadline and a reason

"Please reply by 12 May so we can confirm numbers with the venue" performs better than "RSVP soon", because it explains why the date matters.

Send one reminder, then get personal

A week after the deadline, message only the people who have not replied and paste the link again. For the last few names, a direct call or message is faster than any tool.

Frequently asked questions

What reply rate should I expect?
With a short form inside the invitation, most hosts see the majority of answers in the first two days and nearly all after one reminder.
Can guests reply for their whole family?
Yes, a guest-count field lets one person confirm several people at once.
Can I see who has not answered?
Yes, your guest list shows replies and the running headcount, so the outstanding names are obvious.
Can guests change their answer?
They can reply again, and you can edit any entry in the list yourself.
